Ash Disposal policy

This policy applies to all individuals responsible for operating the sauna, including both employees and company owners:

  • Hot and cooling ashes pose a risk of fire and carbon monoxide exposure. Adequate time must be allowed after each sauna session for the ashes to fully cool. During this cooling period, the stove door must remain closed.

  • All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn. This includes protective gloves, eye protection, a dust mask, and a metal shovel for ash collection.

  • Ash must be collected using a metal ash bin equipped with a sealable lid to prevent ash from escaping.

  • At the end of each day, once the ash has fully cooled, it will be taken home for composting. This method is considered the safest and most environmentally responsible way to dispose of wood ash.
